CLOGGING ORIGINATED IN THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS WITH THE SETTLERS FROM THAT REGION THAT WOULD GET TOGETHER ON SATURDAY NIGHTS TO PLAY MUSIC AND DANCE.  THEY WERE FROM IRELAND, GERMANY, RUSSIA, ENGLAND, ETC. AND THE "MELTING POT" OF THEIR FOLK DANCES BECAME CLOG DANCING.  TODAY CLOGGING HAS BEEN INFLUENCED BY TAP, BALLET, COUNTRY LINE DANCE, SWING AND OTHER FORMS OF DANCE BUT STILL BASICALLY STICKS TO THE ORIGINAL FORM.  WE DANCE FOR FUN -- AND BOY DO WE HAVE FUN!
